    Spectus Sash Window Hardware

    Choose Your Finishing Touches

Add the finishing touches to your new Spectus sash windows with traditionally styled vertical slider hardware.
Tilt knobs, sash lifts and cam locks are available as standard, but we can also offer pole eye, travel restrictors and D handles if needed.
All hardware is available in a number of high quality finishes.
Our hardware is available in eight different finishes. Please note that our non-locking travel restrictors are only available in white, chrome, brushed chrome and matt black.

    Heritage Style Hardware

Add a touch of class to your window with heritage cam locks and tilt knobs

    D Handle

Designed to be fitted to the underside of the top sash on the outside of the window to assist with the opening and closing of the window.

    Cam Locks

Our locking system holds the sash window shut by fastening the midrails together.
The locking system is available in two styles.

    Sash Lifts

The lift hooks are usually fitted on the inside of the bottom sash to allow for easy opening.

    Travel Restrictors

The travel restrictors limit the opening of the top and bottom sashes to approximately 100mm.
They are primarily used as a safety feature in locations where opening restrictions are needed.
    Locking and non-locking versions available.

    Pole Eyes

Primarily designed to be fitted to the top rail of the top sash.
The pole eye enables use of a pole with hook (not supplied) to operate any indows that are positioned too high to operate by hand.

    Tilt Knobs

Used to open and tilt the sashes for easy cleaning of the outside frame and glass from inside your home.

    Spectus Sash Window Features

    AUTHENTIC JOINTS

Replace your standard corner joints with fully mechanical timber looking joints for an authentic finish that carefully disguises the uPVC aspects. Traditionally, a lot of time was spent handcrafting the original corner joints on timber sash windows and with our advanced machinery we can emulate these joints and get as close to the original as possible.

    FULLY MECHANICAL JOINTS

The fully mechanical joints take uthenticity to another level because the 45° uPVC welds on the sash are replaced with 90° mechanical joints as found on traditional timber windows.

    STANDARD 45° WELDED SASH

As standard, we’ll default to a mechanical jointed outer frame with a 45° welded sash. Fully welded is available upon request. The standard welding technique ensures that the corners are tightly bonded, creating a seamless and strong connection.

    Other Features

Replace your standard corner joints with fully mechanical timber looking joints for an authentic finish that carefully disguises the uPVC aspects. Traditionally, a lot of time was spent handcrafting the original corner joints on timber sash windows and with our advanced machinery we can emulate these joints and get as close to the original as possible.

    TRADITIONAL SASH HORNS

By removing the lip on the sash horn edge, a new refined sash horn can carry a oodgrain foiled end capthat run seamlessly with the shape of the horn. The sash horn utilises mechanical joints rather than welded to allow the horn to be a continuous part of the sash giving the window a more authentic overall look.

    DEEP BOTTOM RAIL

Choose a deep bottom rail if you want your sliding sash windows to look as close to the original timber version as possible. The fully mechanical deep bottom rail convincingly mimics the bottom sash of timber windows from the Victorian era and looks great with run-through sash horns.

    SLIM MIDRAIL

The styling details of our sash windows are now more rooted in history than ever before. The new 37mm slim midrail will by Spectus will position as one of the most authentic sash windows on the market ideal for period properties or homes in conservation areas. Available with run-through sash horns and in selected colours only.

    ASTRAGAL BARS

Include a bar layout on your new sash windows for added character. Astragal bars are fixed onto the surface of the glass and are accompanied by back-to-back spacer bars inside the double-glazed unit to give the appearance of separate panes.
